Frequently asked questions
Wear comfy clothes - you will be given a towel robe to wear and we ask you to either remove your bra or take your bra straps down as we do massage your shoulders and neck.
We do request that you do not wear earrings or necklaces.
You don’t need to prepare for a head spa, it is better to wash your hair beforehand but it is not essential as during the head spa your hair will be thoroughly washed.
Yes, a Japanese Head Spa is safe for coloured or chemically treated hair. The treatments are gentle and nourishing, which can actually help improve the health of treated hair by providing moisture and repair.
We do not offer Japanese Head Spa if you have extensions. What we recommend is come to us and enjoy a head spa when you have your extensions removed, prior to having them put back in again. This ensures your scalp is thoroughly cleaned and provides an excellent base for new hair
extensions.
We recommend having a Japanese Head Spa after 12 weeks but before your third trimester. The reason for this is the spa bed is very flat and may not be very comfortable during the treatment. We can offer pillows to support your legs and back and can offer rest breaks but during the third trimester this can still be uncomfortable.
Yes - we recommend an Express Head Spa for men or ladies with short hair.
Absolutely! Prior to your treatment we ask you to fill out a consultation form so you can let us know of any issues you may have. We also use a state of the art scalp scanner so we can clearly see the condition of your scalp. All products used are based on the information noted on your consultation form and the results of the scalp scanner.
We do not offer a blow dry but we do offer a rough dry as part of the service. You may want to bring a clip if you prefer to leave your hair wet.
For general maintenance, once a month is recommended. For specific issues like dandruff or thinning hair, you might need more frequent treatments initially.
Late arrivals may be subject to a shortened treatment time.
We kindly request a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancelling or postponing appointments. Failure to give 24 hours notice may result in a cancellation fee.
